Enteropathic arthritis or enteroarthritis (EA) is a spondyloarthritis (SpA) which occurs in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs) and other gastrointestinal diseases, such as Whipple's disease (WD), celiac disease (CD), and intestinal bypass surgery [1, 2].The most common presentation of Enteropathic Arthritis causes arthralgia, or aches all over the body. There is no inflammation or swollen joints, but it can be very debilitating. This presentation can be similar to fibromyalgia, a chronic pain disorder.
Enteropathic arthropathy or enteropathic arthritis refers to acute or subacute arthritis in association with, or as a reaction to, an enteric (usually colonic) inflammatory condition.
