Hybridization is the process of mating organisms of different varieties or species to form a hybrid. It is also called as crossbreeding, which is defined as the process or the act of producing offspring particularly through mating two purebred individuals but come from different breeds or varieties. In plants, Hybridization is important particularly in agriculture to grow hybrid crops that are more crop yielding as well as disease–resistant. Ligers and mules are examples of a animal hybrids.
