As per available reports, about 25journals,85Conferences, 10 workshops are presently dedicated exclusively to vitamin-D deficiency and about 97589 articles are being published on the current trends in vitamin D. In terms of research annually, USA, India, Japan, Brazil and Canada are some of the leading countries where maximum studies related to deficiency are being carried out. As reported by Hochber Vitamin D deficiency exist when the concentration of 25-hydroxy-vitamin D in the blood serum occurs at 12 nanograms/milliliter (ng/ml) or less. Deficiency of vitamin D leads to rickets, low blood calcium levels, Osteomalacia.
