Abstract :

Doctor Mortazavi published his groundbreaking research (�??Mapping and quantifying mammalian transcriptomes by RNAseq�?�) in Nature Methods in 2008. Since then RNA-seq has evolved rapidly and revolutionized biological research, drug development and clinical diagnostics. 2018 is its 10th year anniversary and this talk will focus on: what has happened over the last 10 years and what is coming in RNA-seq? Current gaps and hurdles in RNA-seq data analysis; Case studies: how to apply RNA-seq to uncover disease related genes, biomarkers and reveal cell heterogeneity will be discussed.
