The rapid growth of advanced automotive electronics for engine control, ADAS (Advanced driver- assistance systems) and future autonomous vehicle infrastructure is expanding the need for efficient solutions which lower the overall cost of assembly, deliver highest yield, and ensure reliability. This paper will review the key trends of automotive FHE (Flexible Hybrid Electronics), the key challenges these present from an electronics assembly perspective, and explore the types of solutions needed to enable timely delivery of the required cost effective functionality.
