Abstract :

Ventricular septal defect (VSD) is a common congenital heart disease in children. There are two methods to treat VSD in China, surgical operations and interventional operations using occluders produced in China. In our department, we have treated 1500 cases using occluders produced in China from 2005 to 2017. The successful rate of the technique is higher than 99.8%. The rate of complications is less than 1%. The complications include heart block, occluder transposition, femoral arteriovenous fistula and thrombosis in femoral artery and vein. We followed up these cases after the operation, which showed that the long-term effects are definite. There is no case to be death because of the procedure. We concluded that children with VSD can be cured with interventional therapy using occluders produced in China with satisfactory results. 18938690175@163.com
