Abstract :

Infertility is the most prevalent health disorders in young adults worldwide; approximately 8-10% of couples are unable to conceive during their reproductive age. The major causes of infertility comprise ovulatory dysfunction and tubal damage in women. Study of genomic variants and genes contributing in molecular mechanism develop understanding of disease pathogenesis involving DNA sequence and microRNA analysis among individuals. Current studies provide novel and detailed information on polymorphism of various genes in Pakistani women with polycystic ovary syndrome. This study demonstrates that genetic variation in the studied genes is associated with the diagnosis of PCOS with infertility in Pakistani (Punjabi) women in a fashion similar to reports in other ethnic groups. The consistent and new finding of these associations suggests a biologically plausible role for genetic polymorphisms in the etiology of PCOS in Pakistani women
