Background: Pakistan is one of the few developing countries that have shown slow progress in reducing under 5-year mortality (U5MR). Pneumonia and Diarrhea are the topmost causes for causing preventable mortality in this age group. Integrated Management of Neonatal and Childhood (IMNCI) is an evidence-based holistic approach adopted by more than 100 countries to achieve a substantial reduction in U5MR. World Health Organization recommends using IMNCI as a strategy to reduce infant mortality to reach SDGs by 2030. Objectives: To determine the frequency and proportion of children under 5 years (U5) of age visiting IMNCI Clinic To ascertain the frequency of most common preventable illnesses diagnosed and treated in children under 5 years of age Methods : An audit was conducted for patients visiting the IMNCI U5 clinic from October 2020 to January 2022 at Civil Hospital Karachi. IMNCI based standardized forms were used for data collection. Data was entered on SPSS v21, T-test was used for analysis. A p-value of 0.05 at 95% CI was considered significant. Results: Out of 92,000 children visiting OPD 55% were under 5 years of age, with 40% presenting with Pneumonia, and 28% with Diarrhea. 91% of the children were suffering from malnutrition Conclusion: U5 IMNCI clinics should be considered for streamlining the provision of pediatric care to help low income countries to reduce U5MR rates at faster pace and achieve SDGs by 2030.
