Abstract :

Domestic violence is one of the world's problems and many efforts have been made to reduce it. The research aimed to investigate the effects of domestic violence on anxiety and depression in children and adolescents in Hamedan City. The method of the present study is descriptive and cross-sectional, conducted in 1401 on 150 children and teenagers of Hamadan city from preschool to middle school (age range 5 to 13 years), along with their parents. that these samples were taken during 4 months and simple random sampling. The tools used to gather information in this matter were the domestic violence questionnaires of Edelson and colleagues (CEDV) and the Maria Kvas Children's Depression Questionnaire (CDI). Finally, the data were analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient and regression using statistical analysis software Spss version 24. The findings of the research showed that the significant coefficients for the regression coefficients between the components of domestic violence and the criterion variable of anxiety and depression were less than 0.05. As it was found, there was a positive relationship between the two main variables of the research, and this shows that domestic violence affects the anxiety and depression of children and teenagers. The increase in the occurrence of this behavior at home always causes mental problems for their children. Therefore, it is suggested Using different methods and a training program, social centers and law enforcement organizations can reduce the effective factors in domestic violence and intervene in the causes of this behavior with psychotherapy.
