Abstract :

There have been multiple anecdotal reports regarding the efficacy of Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) in treating Male and Female Pattern Hair Loss. As many favorable statements seen on the internet, there are an equal number of unfavorable statements being promoted. Is LLLT just ā??smoke and mirrorsā? or is this a legitimate therapeutic modality for androgenetic alopecia? A 1 year in-office study of 100 patients using Global Photography, Video Microscopy, Hair Check, and Hair Counting revealed an overwhelming increase in hair mass density, hair loss response, and patient satisfaction. With our results, it is obvious that LLLT should be added to the armamentarium of every hair loss professional.
