Abstract :

The purpose of this review article is to discuss the white lesions and their management in dental clinic and the treatment methods. White spot lesions are opacities that occur by demineralization of enamel under the surface causing esthetic problems. The etiology can be due to dental fluorosis, early caries and orthodontic treatment due to areas difficult to clean and prone to plaque accumulation around orthodontic attachments, developmental defects etc. In this paper we will go through treatment for 25 years old female Saudi patient that concern about esthetic, her main complaint was the white lesion in her anterior tooth. Treatment planning and management was done in a way with proper sequence, starting with the most conservative treatment option and the patient was a part of the decision-? making process. The treatment plan was discussed with the patient and we start with office bleaching the result wasn’t satisfying. After that we go for using the resin infiltration technique (ICON) the lesion was decreased in size and it gives a nice result for 2 years. And it needs follow up to see the progress of the result.
