The neurocysticercosis is an emergent disease in industrialized countries due to the population migration from the endemic regions, becoming a public health disease. Even though the neurocysticercosis is the most frequent parasitic disease affecting the human central nervous system in Colombia there are no descriptions of cases in Casanare. A case is presented of a female patient, 43 years old from the Monterrey, Casanare city who joins the Yopal Hospital transferred for presenting a generalized tonic-clonic movement chart. Systematic checking declares headache of 2-month evolution with antecedent of epilepsy diagnosed when she was 12 and without medication. The findings of the axial tomography show subarachnoid and extraxial neurocysticercosis which is resolved with oral albendazole. Because this is the first case described in Casanare, it is being documented. Most scrutinized literature was collected from different sources including PubMed, MEDLINE plus; searching the database is done through drug name, keyword input.
