Drug delivery devices have become an essential element in todayâ??s drug product presentation. Many drugs from peptides to biologics are delivered via injection systems ranging from the prefilled syringe to complex on body injectors. These devices are patient facing and sometimes play a role in determining which drug is prescribed. As such the experience patient and related stakeholders have with your drug delivery device can have a tremendous impact. In this discussion, we will explore the inter-dependency and contribution drug formulation have on device development and patient experience. We will also explore considerations around primary container component selection for drug product, drug delivery devices, and lifecycle management strategy. Finally, we will explore consideration when assessing and selecting drug delivery devices as well as benefits of having digitally-enabled drug delivery devices in maximizing patient experience and support.
