Abstract :

Purpose:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Selective laser trabeculoplasty(SLT) over 6 months of follow-up in patients with Open angle glaucoma(OAG) following corneal refractive surgery. Methods: This retrospective study included 11 eyes of 6 patients with OAG after refractive surgery. The SLT patients were treated with a frequency-doubled q-switched neodymium:yytrium- aluminum-garnet laser(wavelength 532nm). Approximately 50 adjacent, but not overlapping, laser spots were distributed over 180 degrees of trabecular meshwork, using an energy level ranging from 0.7 to 1.0mJ per pulse. The main outcome measure was intraocular pressure(IOP) lowering after SLT. Results: At 6 month, Mean IOP decreased from 19.0+/-1.5 mmHg to 15.5 +/-1.2mmHg.(p<0.05) No serious complication was noted after SLT. Conclusion: SLT proved to be effective and safe techniques in treatment of OAG after LASIK or LASEK surgery.
