The tear trough is one of the important anatomical units of the face. Both surgical and cosmetic practices, there are many ways of its correction, and from year to year there are new methods, successful or unsuccessful, based on the vision of this anatomical structure. As a result of sections 38 cadavers, we have established that the basis of the tear trough is the orbicularis retaining ligament (ORL). In this regard, we provide a classification framework which is the length of the ORL. According to this classification, ORL may be short, medium and long. Using these options, you can plan correction methods of tear trough. This classification facilitates the choice of a method of controlling the tear trough through ORL.
