A utism is characterized by a spectrum of behaviors and developmental delays that are generally attributed to a complex set of neurological disturbances that result from a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Many of the alternative treatment approaches or adjunct therapies for patients with neurodegenerative disorders are designed to improve the autoimmune pathways. Approximately 1% of the population is intolerant for the immunogenic food antigen gluten, which results in the chronic illness coeliac disease (CD). In genetic predisposed individuals, gluten evokes a T-cell response resulting in disease development. The only treatment of CD is a gluten-free diet, which is demanding for CD patients and prevention of the disease would be desirable. Prevention is usually defined as any activity which reduces the burden of mortality or morbidity from disease, and which takes place at primary, secondary or tertiary level. Adherence to the gluten-free diet reduces the complications of CD and it may be considered as a tertiary preventive measurement. Early diagnosis and treatment of CD represents secondary prevention. Primary prevention is based on avoiding of disease development. Our investigation is based on the possibilities for primary prevention of CD on using human colostrum for the treatment and in the development of tolerance for gluten in autistic rat with celiac disease.
