Abstract :

Women in leadership is an interesting and common topic that is now been discussed widely. History suggested that leadership amongst women is not a new characteristic, it was known since BC. When female leaders in positions serve as role models, there is influence not only on the women career advancement, but also facilitate societal impacts at workplace in ways that benefit both men and women, and accommodate a more diverse workforce. Women have to acknowledge the challenges coming in their way as leaders and know how to become better influencers at work. The author will explore evidence that supports the genetic, innate leadership of influence to p and the acquired type and with the presentation there will be a strong message to women in leadership positions to how to support others, with some African examples as I am myself from Africa with specific examples from Sudan.

Biography :

Dr Hala Abuzeid received her medical degree MBBS from Khartoum University, Sudan, then moved to UK to complete her residency training in internal medicine and fellowship training in critical care medicine in Oxford, UK. Dr Abuzeid holds Board certification in internal medicine and critical care medicine from UK and USA, a Master Degree (MSc) in Infection & Health in the Tropics, Diplomas in Tropical Medicine (DTM&H) and in ECMO from France. Currently, she is Department chair of CCM in Tawam & Al Ain Hospitals. Prior 2020, she was in Abu Dhabi corporate hospitals. As a versatile physician she is a member of the newly formed UAE National Organ Transplantation committee for organ donation. Dr Abuzeid is a receiver of multiple academic and professional awards attributed to her nationally and internationally renowned expertise in the UAE, UK, KSA and her home country Sudan.
