Biography

Dr. Priyadarshi Mahapatra has received his PhD in Chemical Engineering, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York in 2010. He has been working in the capacity of Research Engineer at National Energy Technology Laboratory, U.S. Department of Energy, since past 6 years, specializing in areas of Advanced Process Controls. He has expertise in dynamic modeling, simulation and advanced process control of process engineering systems, with emphasis on various post/pre-combustion CO2 capture, power generation and coal conversion processes. He has received several awards and honors, such as: FLC Technology Transfer Award for outstanding work in technology transfer towards development of AVESTAR™ center and U.S. DOE Office of Fossil Energy Certificate of Achievement in recognition of outstanding work on development of a 3D Virtual Energy Plant Simulator and Immersive Training System. He is serving as an editorial member of Journal of Chemical Engineering and Process Technology & expert reviewers for journals like Journal of Process Control, Industrial and Engineering Research, Computers and Chemical Engineering, etc. He has authored more than 50 research articles/books. He is a member of professional affiliation institutes such as American Institute of Chemical Engineers and Computational & Systems Technology.
