Dr. Wayne Zhou has received his PhD in Biochemistry from the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Oregon State University and received his postdoctoral training in the University of California, San Francisco. He has been a faculty member in the Program in Molecular Medicine of University of Massachusetts Medical School, and the Department of Biological Sciences of Louisiana State University. Currently, he is working as an associate professor in the Department of Biochemistry in A. T. Still University. He has been a vice president of several biotech companies, and is a co-founder of Gracomics, a biotech company on drug safety and protein microarray technology. His research has included structure and function study of protein tyrosine phosphatase SHP-1 and biomarker identification for drug safety and precision medicine. Based on this research and fellowship training, he has received several awards and honors, such as Career Development Award, American Diabetes Association; Basil O’Connor Starter Scholar Research Award and The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Research Award. He has authored more than 30 research articles. He is a member of American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, American Society for Cell Biology and American Scientific Affiliation
