Bipolar disorder is a mental disorder characterized by periods of elevated moods and periods of depression. Bipolar disorder medications are lithium, antidepressants, antipsychotics, anticonvulsants etc. lithium has been used for years for bipolar disorder. Benzodiazepines are used For short term relief of manic symptoms, these are very helpful in bipolar disorder. Paxil, Prozac, luvox, Zoloft are called SSRI antidepressants these are helpful in bipolar disorder. Marplan, Nardil And Parnate are MAOI antidepressants these are avoid depression.
