Mycobacterial pharmacology

Mycobacterial pharmacology is the branch of medicine that deals with the study of drug action in Mycobacterium infected individuals. It covers the pathways of discovering and inventing various drugs that can decrease the toxicity and virulent strength of mycobacteria in infected life.

These drugs basically render the mycobacterial genome in such a way that they resist further growth in an individual. The main approach behind the study of mycobacterial pharmacy is to improve therapy for that patient and prevent the selection of additional drug resistance.

Drugs involved in mycobacterial treatment are designed in such a way that the virulence of mycobacteria is stopped by blocking the disease causing pathways in the host cellular system and a resistant system is generated in the host.
