Pediatric cancer mainly deals with diagnosis and treatment of cancer in children. The most common cancers in children areleukemia, brain tumors and lymphomas. Cancers were found most often in children between 1 and 4 years of age, but the most deaths occurred among those aged five to nine. The main subtypes of brain and central nervous system tumors in children are brain stem glioma, astrocytoma, craniopharyngioma, ependymoma, desmoplastic infantile ganglioglioma, high-grade glioma, medulloblastoma and atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor.
