Rapid cycling is well-defined as four or more manic, hypomanic, or depressive periods in any twelve month period. The person suffering from rapid cycling bipolar disorder feels like he or she is on a breaker, with mood and energy changes that are out-of control and disabling. In some persons, rapid cycling is categorized by severe irritability, anger, impulsivity, and intense outbursts. While the term rapid cycling may make it sound as if the periods occur in regular cycles, periods actually often follow a random pattern. The treatment of dis disease is taking of medications, finding peace of mind, physiotherapy.
