A spermatocele (epididymal cyst) is a painless, fluid-filled cyst in the long, tightly coiled tube that lies above and behind each testicle (epididymis ). The exact cause of spermatoceles is unknown but might be due to a blockage in one of the tubes that transports sperm. Pain, swelling, redness of the scrotum and pressure at the base of the penis are the symptoms seen.
