Dr. Xiao He is a distinguished professor in the Department of Chromatography at Beijing Normal University, where he is recognized for his innovative contributions to the field of analytical chemistry. His research focuses on developing advanced chromatographic techniques for applications in environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical analysis, and natural product characterization. Dr. He completed his B.Sc. in Chemistry at Nanjing University and earned his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry at Kyoto University, Japan. His doctoral research on novel stationary phases for high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) established new benchmarks in improving separation efficiency and resolution. He further enhanced his expertise during a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley, where he focused on multidimensional chromatography and its applications in complex sample analysis. Since joining Beijing Normal University in 2010, Dr. He has been at the forefront of research in chromatography. His work spans gas chromatography (GC), liquid chromatography (LC), and the integration of chromatographic techniques with spectroscopic and mass spectrometric methods. His research has led to significant advancements in analyzing trace environmental pollutants and bioactive compounds, contributing to public health and environmental sustainability. Dr. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, including Journal of Chromatography A, Analytical Chemistry, and Environmental Science & Technology. He is also the co-editor of the textbook Chromatographic Innovations: Principles and Applications, which is widely adopted in graduate programs worldwide. His contributions to the field have been recognized with prestigious awards, such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Outstanding Investigator Award and the Chinese Chemical Society’s Analytical Chemistry Excellence Prize.
