My focus is to provide a more detailed understanding of the molecular and cellular mechanisms of T cell signaling abnormalities and their relationship with gene expression that may contribute to autoimmunity and in particular to lupus. My interests are: 1- T cell signal transduction alterations that may modify gene expression, and 2- how gene expression modifications may modify intracellular pathways that contribute to the development and progression of the disease.
