Karen F. Marlowe, Pharm D, BCPS,CPE–After graduating from Auburn University, Karen completed her pharmacy practice residency at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.In 2000, sheaccepted an appointment with Auburn University with a practice affiliated with the University of South Alabama Medical School, Department of Internal Medicine. Sheprovidespharmacotherapy consults forinpatient internal medicine patients, and also maintains a consult service for pain management and end of life care. This unique consult service is based on providing advocacy to patients and care providers to increase access to appropriate pain management and symptom management.Her research interests revolve around the attitudes/perceptions of practitioners regarding chronic pain patients and how their beliefsimpact the care these patients receive. She is also pursuing information related to opioids and how they impact the care of chronic pain patients. For the last three years, shehas served as the Assistant Dean of the Mobile Satellite Campus for the Harrison School of Pharmacy as well as the Associate Department Head for the Department of Pharmacy Practice.
