Lu Xiaoshu

Biography

Born in Changchun, China, Professor Xiaoshu Lü received her BSc. and MSc. from Jilin University, China and her PhD from Helsinki University of Technology, Finland. She is presently a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Aalto University, Finland and holds the position of Honorary Tang Aoqing Professorship at Jilin University. Professor Lü has a strong mathematics and physics background and extensive research experience presenting multidisciplinary challenges for both theoretical and applied engineering problems. In 2006, she received the Napier Shaw Bronze Medal awarded by the British Engineering Society CIBSE in the UK. Prior to coming to Aalto University, she worked in the research areas of occupational health, safety, ergonomics and biomedical data analysis. Her recent interests are artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, and big data. She serves as editorial member of several international journals and an editor of international conferences.
