Maria Rambla-Alegre, is a PhD in the Organic Chemistry Department (Separation Science group) at the Gent University, Belgium. Her field of expertise is Analytical Chemistry. She has developed and validated a large variety of works for the determination of different drugs (antibiotics, antidepressants, among others) in biological and food samples. She is an expert in the liquid chromatography and electrophoresis techniques. She was awarded by the Spanish government to carry out her research due to the excellent marks obtained in the Chemistry degree. Throughout her scientific career she has published more than 25 articles in international scientific journals of recognised prestige. Moreover, she has presented a more than 40 communications in international symposia. She was awarded by HPLC Inc. with a Student Travel Award and Pfizer Student Award to attend the 35th and 36th International Symposium on High Performance Liquid Phase Separations and Related Techniques, HPLC2010 in Boston (USA) and HPLC2011 in Budapest, respectively.
