Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yaman received his Ph.D. in 1990 from the University of Inonu, Malatya-Turkey. He was appointed as associated professor at University of Firat, Elazig-Turkey in 1995. Since 2002, he has been chaired Full Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Firat. Since 2005, Mehmet Yaman has a track record of more than 100 publications (corresponding author in most of them) in peer-reviewed scientific journals (including Curr. Med. Chem., J. Med. Chem., J. Anal. At Spectrom., Analyst, Anal. Chim. ACTA, Anal. Biochem., Talanta etc). Between 2010-2013, he was selected as member of consultative committee of TÜBÄ°TAK (the Scientific and Social Research Council of Turkey).
Mehmet Yaman’s research focused the preconcentration and determination of trace metals in biological, environmental and food matrices. Within these studies, the following elements are of special interest: Lead, cadmium, nickel and copper. Furthermore, he started the determinations of trace organic compounds such as histidine, flavonoids, PAHs and acrylamide in medicinal plants and grilled foodstaffs by using HPLC-MS in recent years.
