Prof. Hatta is a professor on Molecular Biology and Immunology for Infectious Diseases from Medical Faculty of Hasanuddin University, Makassar, Indonesia. Prof Hatta got his MD degree from Hasanuddin University, Indonesia in 1983, his PhD in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology from Toyama Medical and Pharmaceutical University, Japan in 1992. He is Consultant of Clinical Microbiologist since 2001. Prof. Hatta is know for his research in Molecular Biology and Immunology aspects of Mycobacteria, Salmonella typhi, leptospira; Development new simple diagnostic test for typhoid fever, leprosy, leptospirosis, and brucellosis.
Development of recombinant DNA BCG vaccine; Molecular epidemiology study of leprosy and typhoid fever; Development and evaluation of effectivity Salmonella typhi vaccine; Molecular genetic study of leprosy and application of chemoprophylaxis for leprosy; Genome snp analysis for S. typhi in Indonesia and novel new flagellin gene Indz66; Operational research of tuberculosis in isolated islands of Indonesia.
