Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, USA
Dr. Uma K Aryal received his PhD from Kyushu University of Japan in 2006 and worked as a Natural Science and Engineering Research Council of Canada NSERC Visiting Fellow at National Research Council of Canada Plant Biotechnology Institute during the period of May 2006 to June 2009. He joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory Richland WA as a Research Associate in July 2009. He is a member of the International Biotechnology Society American Society for Mass Spectrometry and Canadian Society for Mass Spectrometry
His research interest is to use proteomics and mass spectrometry approaches to determine the underlying network that govern cellular processes in cyanobacteria, vascular plants (Arabidopsis thaliana) and white-rot fungus, and apply this knowledge for bio-fuel and/or environmental bioremediation research. Uma has a collective experience of working over 8 years in the field of proteomics and mass spectrometry and has used Cyanobacteria (Cyanothece sp.), Arabodopsis thaliana, Phanerochaete chrysosporium as research model organisms.
