In Romania tomitigatecoastal erosionin order to increasethe value ofcoastal zoneandcreate newareasof beachtourismin the period2005 - 2013wereelaboratedscientificand technicaldocumentation to development the Master PlanoftheRomanianBlack Sea coast, through twomajor projects: -"StudyontheProtectionand Rehabilitationof theSouthernRomanianBlackSeaShore" (2005 - 2007) and - â??Technical Assistance for the Preparation of Projects under Priority Axis 5. Implementation of Adequate Infrastructure of Natural Risk Prevention in the Most Vulnerable Areas. Major Intervention Domain 2 - Reduction of Coastal Erosionâ?? (2010 - 2013).In these projectswas drawn upa Strategic Plan forCoastal Protection, which will runfor morethan 30years, withcoastal protection measures planned in the short,mediumand long term.These worksincludemeasures to reducewave energy by building new dams,beachfill (nourishment) withdikesof stabilitysand(spurs) and measuresfor retaining thesandon the beach by building new dams, repair the old detached breakwater and 'existing groins.Short-term measureswere planned for fivepriority projectsinthe southernRomaniancoast, in order toreducethe risk ofcoastalerosion andrehabilitate the areafor7.1 kilometersof shore inplaces, SouthMamaia, Constanta (TomisNordTomisCenter, TomisSouth) andNorthEforie. Thebeach areawasexpectedto becreatedabout33.7haandwhich wereput into operation at the endof 2015 year.NIMRD monitors theRomaniancoastline, since 1980 and has designed and realizedlandmarks for coastal shorttermprotection measures,in2014forthe initiationof monitoring of shoreline with coastal protection measures.Based ongeomorphologicalprofileof the backshoreandswashzonecarried outbefore, duringand after realizedcoastal protections (2014 â?? 2015)it was doneassessment of coastal processes(erosion-accretion). `
