Abstract :

Intrauterine Cytomegalovirus infection results in either fetal death or cytomegalic inclusion disease. Case Report: Male baby born on 02/01/2012 to third degree consanguineous parents married since 14 years. Preterm Birth weight: 2.25kg NICU graduate, neonatal hyperbilirubinemia, bleeding from vaccination site, intraventricular hemorrhage and thrombocytopenia. Parents History: Both parents are diabetic. Mother had on and off fever during pregnancy. Baby: 4months: Milestones: normal Hepatospleenomegaly Jaundice Anaemia Echo: Patent ductus arteriosus, Atrial septal defect, CT Brain: Ventriculomegaly with periventricular calcification. Liver function tests: Direct bilirubin: 0.62mg/dl Indirect bilirubin: 0.38mg/dl SGOT: 154.8u/l SGPT: 161.1u/l CMV IgM: Positive Etiology: Genetic elderly parents Prolonged infertility Diabetic parents Cytomegalovirus infection Combined Milestones are normal inspite of hepatospleenomegaly, jaundice, anaemia, congenital heart disease and periventricular calcification.
