Abstract :

Intraocular pressure (IOP) measurement is an important investigation which forms a part of routine checkup in ophthalmology. Instruments of IOP measurement range from the Schiotz tonometer to ocular response analyzers which include corneal hysteresis in their pressure calculations. Goldmann applanation tonometry remains the gold standard for intraocular pressure measurement. This technique though is not without its pitfalls but with this short educational presentation, we will attempt to demonstrate the same and try to make this test a part of every ophthalmologists routine.
