Excessive emission of greenhouse gases has been discovered to affect the health and economic potentials of individuals, communities and institutions in Nigeria adversely. Studies have shown that the use of renewable energy and a lesser reliance on fossil fuels in Nigeria which is in line with the United Nations Paris Agreement will help to reduce the excessive emission of greenhouse gases which are the major causes of global warming and climate change. This study identifies the green entrepreneurial opportunities in the renewable energy industry for young entrepreneurs in Nigeria. It also identified that the use of renewable energy which is one of the climate change mitigation strategies will help to enhance good health and well-being, increase environmental sustainability for sustainable economic growth and development in Nigeria. It further recommends that more impact investment strategies should be employed towards the renewable energy infrastructure projects in Nigeria thereby achieving the green, resilient and sustainable development in Nigeria. Benjamin Anabaraonye is an educationist, researcher and poet with a passion to see communities free from environmental pollutions which bring about climate change. He is the CEO of BENJY POETRY AND MUSIC GLOBAL CONCEPTS which also conducts research, specialized seminars on climate change adaptation and mitigation for global sustainability. He has received trainings in the field of climate change from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). In 2019, he received the World Environment Day Hero awards from the United Nations Environment.
